Jalan Galur Sari Timur Sidewalk Undergoes Repairs

The East Jakarta Bina Marga Sub-agency is repairing the sidewalk on Jalan Galur Sari Timur, Utan Kayu Selatan, Matraman.

This repair of the approximately 50-meter-long sidewalk is targeted for completion by the end of June 2026.

Matraman Sub-district Bina Marga Executing Unit Head, Nessy Octaviani stated that the repairs were initiated because the sidewalk had sustained severe damage during the Utan Kayu River sheet piling project last year.

Sidewalk Repairs Underway on Jalan Yos Sudarso

According to her, the sidewalk served as an access route for heavy machinery during construction, which damaged several sections and rendered it uncomfortable for pedestrians.

"We want pedestrians to travel safely and comfortably," she explained, Wednesday (6/10).

She explained that the restoration work has been underway since early May 2026. As of now, the project is 40 percent complete.

"The sidewalk is being reinforced with cast concrete structures to make it sturdier and more durable," she added.

She added that the project also includes the improvement of the supporting drainage system through the construction of storm drains along the sidewalk.

"Storm drains are installed at three-meter intervals using neatly laid red bricks. We previously used PVC pipes, but many went missing due to theft," she emphasized.
